The Tavern at festival this year will be licensed to sell alcohol from Thursday the 13th of April to Sunday the 16th of April between the hours of 4pm and midnight.
As part of the restrictions on our licence, which mean we don't need to hire security guards, we are not allowed to have weapons in the premises during licenced hours (4-midnight). We ask you to keep your swords and axes in your tents. Knives used for eating are fine if you are eating your meal in the Tavern.
- No glass drinking vessels or individual serve bottles (eg. beer, cider, mixed drink varieties* - I will be getting clarification on this point prior to festival) are to be brought into the Tavern during licenced hours.
- No alcohol purchased from the Tavern is to leave the licenced area.
- No person under the age of 18 is to be within a meter of the bar.
- Intoxicated persons will not be served.
These rules must be adhered to: the Tavern staff reserve the right to refuse service and/or request any person/s to leave the premises.
Monday night, the Tavern will be an open space for Boars head theater.
Tavern mugs will be on sale at market day from midday until sold out.
Ice and soft drink will be available from midday from Thursday- Monday. (Subject to change)
Bar snacks will be available.
We encourage anyone who wishes to sing or perform.
Before the event opens officially, everyone who is on Site on Wednesday night is invited to the Tavern tent. Bring your dinner and eat in company. Bring your instruments and entertain us. Bring a bottle of something to share. Bring your voice, and your stories. It’s a wonderful way to slide into a week of living history with old friends.Read more
