Ways to Volunteer
- First Aid – Provide medical assistance and ensure participant safety.
- Heralding – Announce important festival events and guide attendees.
- Marshalling – Oversee combat activities to ensure safety and fair play.
- Waste Management – Keep the festival grounds clean and eco-friendly.
- Cleaning Crew – Help maintain shared spaces, including kitchens and communal areas.
- Stewarding – Assist in managing logistics, information desks, and event coordination.
- Teaching Classes – Share your expertise in medieval arts, crafts, or history.

Callout for the Next Rowany Festival Steward

Do you want to make your mark on Lochac? Become the Steward of the next Rowany Festival!
Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open.
Requirements for Festival Steward/s:
- Must be over 18 years old
- Must be a current member of the SCA
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead and coordinate a team
Key Responsibilities:
- Building a Team – Recruit and resource a team of officers for the festival
- Budgeting – Develop a festival budget with support from the Festival Executive Committee
- Event Coordination – Work closely with the Festival Executive Committee and Rowany Seneschal to handle event logistics, including:
- Development Applications (DA)
- Water and traffic management
- Liaising with the event site
While tasks can be delegated, the final responsibility rests with the Steward.
Timeline & Responsibilities
- The successful Steward(s) will begin immediately upon appointment, typically with a handover at the previous festival, starting with event packdown.
- You must submit an event proposal and budget after reviewing the previous Rowany Festival’s report.
How to Apply – Expression of Interest (EOI)
Submit an EOI including:
- Your resume detailing relevant experience (both SCA and mundane)
- Your ideas for improving the festival experience
Note: You do not need to be from Rowany to apply, but if you are not, you must have a Rowany Baronial member as a liaison in your team.
